So what are dental implants?

Dental implants are artificial roots inserted into the jaws. These allow new teeth to be fixed to them so they are like your own teeth.

How can dental implants help me?

Dental implants can help most people with teeth missing and were originally used to stabilise loose lower dentures, becoming life changing for those that have them. Today we can still stabilise dentures but also replace dentures altogether by fixing crowns and bridges to the implants. These ‘new’ teeth don’t damage the neighbouring teeth unlike conventional bridges or dentures. They appear to grow from the gum just as your original teeth would have.

Who has dental implants?

Everyone over the age of about 18 can have dental implants; there is no upper age limit and very few medical reasons why you can’t have dental implants. From single tooth replacement to a few teeth, to all your teeth or to stabilising a denture with mini or standard dental implants.

Are dental implants expensive?

It depends. What value do you put on being able to eat properly all your life? Inevitably as we loose natural teeth, if they are not replaced the remaining teeth will move, they too will become casualties in time.

Remember that Dr Warne has a Masters degree in implant dentistry and he uses only top quality implants. Some cheaper or foreign implants may not have spare parts in a few years and what happens then?
